2 Reasons Why You Need To Invest In Asia Today!
Let’s talk about what you should invest in and why I would strongly recommend that you include Asia exposure in your investment portfolio.
For context, the Asia that I’m referring to only includes Eastern, Southern and South-East Asia as they exhibit similar characteristics and are structurally positioned for growth in the next 15 to 25 years.
If you are an investor who is looking at growing your wealth, you need to invest in something that has a sustainable long-term underlying growth trend which if that is the case Asia is the region that you should consider due to 2 reasons.
1. Population Trends
Firstly, Asia is set to experience tremendous growth in both its population and in particular its middle-income class population which will contribute to both an increase in demand for consumption and supply for production.
This will contribute to a higher economic activity within the region which will then spur on higher business profitability and therefore higher investment return as we invest in the businesses operating within the region itself.
2. Productivity Trends Secondly, apart from population growth, productivity within Asia is also expected to improve moving in the future as the infrastructure improves alongside an increase in literacy rate and technology adoption.
As a result of these factors, economic growth in Asia is set to grow sustainably as the region improves its ability to maximize the value that can be created given an amount of input thereby generating higher business profitability which translates to higher investment returns.
We can already see this happening in some countries within Asia such as Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.
Long Story Short
In the next three decades, Asia is expected to grow and contribute around 50% of the global economy, which is almost twice the amount that they are contributing today. As investors who are focused on growth, we must participate in the growth that Asia will provide as it catches up with the developed regions.
